Dear Readers, it's time for me to do something else.

Eventually everything hits the bottom, and all you have to do is wait until someone comes along, and turns it back again. ⌛️

I have come to the difficult decision to cancel the publication of The Catch Block. This will be the last issue.

This was a hard decision to make, no doubt about it. I've been struggling with it for weeks. It was spurred on by two major life events, one you know about, and one I'll be writing about in the near future. Suffice to say, I have a lot happening all at once, though not all of it is bad.

At this moment, though, I don't feel that I can commit the energy and time to this publication that it deserves. You probably noticed that the last few issues haven't really been up to my normal standards. And I don't want to publish things that aren't up to my standards. I don't want to be a link-only publication (nothing against those, it's just not what I want).

So it's time to say goodbye to The Catch Block.

During this whole 104-issue run, you, dear readers, have made this fun, memorable. So I want to thank you, each of you, for sticking with me, for trusting my opinions, for reading my articles and tutorials, for being my subscribers.

I would love to thank each of you personally, but I've only met one of you in real life, so this next paragraph will have to do.

Thank you LJR, Michael, Gooner, Paul, Kerry, Joseph, Mahery, Robert, Gavin, Daniel, Mark, Noah, Vishal, AJ, William, Christian, Mike, Luis, Dhanuja, Malcolm, Alexandra, Franz, Aleksander, Marielle, Jon R, James, Sandor, Panduranga, Emily, Anne, Glenn, Alexey, Alan G, James, Martin, Divya, Tim, Mohamed, David, Murat, Rizwan, Shaughn, Jon L, Nitin, Alan W, Chris, CD, Ashok, Claes, Jack, Ronald, Petere, Branden, Kristaps, Matthew, Raymond, Jeff, Zbyszek, Balaban, Michelle, Antonio, Nel, Brian, Kevipulie, Ted, Michael S, and Ivan. This doesn't happen without you.

The issues of the Catch Block that are already published will be made free to the general public. That will happen over the next several weeks.

In addition, you will each be receiving prorated refunds during the next week or so. You should get them from Stripe. It's really the least I can do; I don't want to keep your money for a product you are no longer receiving.

I'm also going to be taking a bit of a break from the main blog, for the same reasons. I'm not gonna stop that entirely, though, and I'll be picking it up in the future. I might even start up a paid newsletter again, but if that happens, it'll be in the distant future and will probably look quite a bit different.

I'd still very much appreciate it if you would buy me a coffee (using the button below) if you feel my projects have helped you.

You can also star my projects on GitHub, follow me on Twitter, or even just contact me to tell me about what you're doing lately. I do appreciate hearing from the community. Please also contact me if you have any issues with your refunds.

In short: I'm burnt out. I don't want to stop writing entirely, but events in my personal life require me to take a break. Something's got to give. I'll be back, I promise. I just don't know when.

Just need to get a new match. Photo by Gift Habeshaw / Unsplash

Until then, thanks for reading! I appreciate you, Dear Readers!
